MASSAGE
“Massage is one person touching another with awareness so that healing can take place”
As human beings, we are physical entities with a body that maybe has been conditioned to be ‘too this’ or ‘not that’ and feeling ashamed of this beautiful vessel. To start to embody ourselves the work of a holistic massage therapist can help you to live fully in your body and less in the mind. A “wholistic” approach to body work where we meet in the middle through intention and respect. This approach sees the whole clients physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs met. By using many touch therapy techniques you receive what you need at a time that is needed. Includes deep tissue (NMT), swedish, percussion, mobilisation, stretches (MET) all offered with a nurturing touch and response process. A treatment that is experienced more like massaging people, not bodies.

A whole treatment to the feet and lower legs. In Eastern tradition the feet are seen as a microcosm of the whole body. We have over 200,000 sensory nerve endings on our feet so this profound effect on our nervous system can leave a stimulating or sedating feeling, depending on your preferences.
You will receive a hot towel cleanse with epsom salts and tea tree oil which can start the congestion process off. Foot and leg effleurage strokes enable blood flow to circulate freely towards the heart centre followed by deeper work on the foot and ankle. Certain accupressure points are held to maintain balance and harmony throughout the body and release blockages, boost the lymphatic and immune system and improves the functioning of major organs. The points held are called meridians in Chinese medicine. The feet and ankles joints may be articulated and stretched before a grounding massage practice and hot towel holds is welcomed.
This treatment is said to leave you feeling like you’ve had a full body massage.

An eastern approach to facial massage begins with stretching & movement into the head and neck incorporating the shoulders and arms. Scalp and Indian head massage to relaxes you further before a hot towel cleanse to steam and open the pores. A full facial oil massage follows to stimulate the layers of the skin, improve and relax muscle tone. Rejuvenating your energy and clearing lymphatic pathways within the tissues and accupressure points. You receive holds, energy practices and more subtle touch to close this wonderful treatment to boost and uplift and bring a sense of clarity to your mind. Sound meditation can be added

This kind of intricate body work can help you with breast, abdominal, uterine, menstrual, fertility, and pubity concerns. Working in this way we connect with the endocrine system (our hormones). You may consider this kind of work for alignment and postural improvement in the pelvis and hips as the treatment will involve a blend of massage, movement & energy work as we connect more into our deeper awareness of self.

Give time for self-care during one of the most amazing and challenging moments your life surely is a non-negotiable requirement. Pregnancy massage helps keep skin supple, blood and lymph circulating, muscles toned, bones & joints strong and allows the heart to relax. Your heart beat increases when pregnant to pump more blood to the uterus, which can sometimes lead to oedema in the hands and feet so treating yourself to a leg and foot massage may help you. You may also need a boost of energy as a pregnant woman’s heart pumps faster and it’s the same feeling like you’ve been jogging 24/7! A lovely abdominal massage may help you connect to your baby and get the oxytocin flowing. You may just want to receive an upper body and head massage to bring a sense of peace to your busy mind. A lovely facial massage can help with any blockages that can be causing sinus issues and headaches. A holistic approach for you AND your baby to receive all the benefits together.
You can be seated, side lying or laid on a huge cushion to melt into.

A seated clothed treatment that consists of a flowing range of massage movements to the upper back, shoulders, arms, hands, working up through the neck, scalp and face, concluding with chakra balancing. This ancient massage technique, known as ‘champni’ has many benefits from circulation and posture improvements, restores joint and muscle tension and can relieve headaches, eye strain, anxiety and stress. Many massage and percussive techniques are incorporated to rebalance, re-vitalise your being and re-balance your energy flow.
